Always on the Brink of Something
it's late, or early depending on how you want to look at it, and i've been up prepping for F200, aka "bad-band" but I never refer to it by that name.
Today was a blur, and tomorrow will be even fuzzier. Earlier tonite a friend and I chatted over coffee (part of the reason I'm up) about the burn-out status of our department (music in general) and how some professors lose touch with the mental stamina of their students. I don't believe it's intentional after all we all contribute to it...but I think there comes a point when we all need to step back and put things into perspective.
This is more for my own benefit, I have a nasty habit of trying to do it all.
:) anyway
One class that has brought me a whole lot of joy is actually not a music class. My Intro to Special Ed, has honestly taught me a lot about how to "not sweat the small stuff".
And because of that simple phrase I'm becoming a better educator, and person.
Well, that is all I'm striving for at this point. Hopefully it will all fall into place soon...
