Teaching Experience
- 2007- Present, Indiana University, Associate Instructor, String Techniques; Class is comprised of undergraduate band music education students. The priority is to equip the students with the first hand knowledge of the four string instruments along with instructional focus on how to achieve success with a heterogeneous string class.
- Fall 2005, Open Dream Ensemble, Teaching Artist; A performance art troupe whose mission is that of aesthetic education and to integrate arts-in-education programs in public schools. Residencies included specific curriculum building according to NC state standards along with classroom teachers, performance of an original show written, composed, and choreographed by members of the Open Dream Ensemble and collaborative performance of ODE members and students. This program is comprised of alumni from the North Carolina School of the Arts.
- 2004 -2007, Presbyterian College, Adjunct Cello Professor; For curriculum building, weekly cello lessons and rehearsals for PC Cello Choir.Founded the Presbyterian Cello Choir. Performance responsibilities; student, and faculty recital.
- 2005 -2007, Palmetto Center for the Performing Arts (Magnet Program at Richland Northeast High School), Guest Teaching Artist; Responsible for curriculum building, weekly cello lessons, monthly master classes, and preparing all students for recitals held at the end of each term.Performance responsibilities; student, and faculty recitals.
- 2004 – 2005 Blythewood Middle School, Cello Section Coach; Aid to orchestra teacher with beginner cello class in; instruction in cello technique, and extra music rehearsals.
- 2005-2005 Carolina String Academy, Cello Teacher; Responsible for weekly cello lessons with students ranging in age from 16, to adult.
- Summer 2004, French Woods Performing Arts Festival, Cello Teacher; Responsible for weekly cello lessons, curriculum building, performance with students in orchestral, and musical theatre settings.
- 2003-2004, The Urban School of San Francisco, Chamber Coach; Responsible for selection of music for an ensemble that included; two cellists, two violinists, two flutists, and one pianist. Weekly chamber coaching and preparation each semester for recitals.
Chamber Ensembles
- Gervais String Trio, A chamber group that focuses its energy on performing at the highest level possible yet at the same time tackling teaching and community out-reach endeavors.
Workshops/Seminars/Conferences
- Fall 2005, North Carolina Showcase Held in High-Point, NC; The showcase offers school systems/promoters to view K-12 related performance vendors for booking purposes. Open Dream Ensemble was asked to present selections from “The Amazing Adventures of Anna Marie”.
- Spring 2005, Bernard Greenhouse Celebration at UNCG; Was selected to perform in a master class led by cellist Pamela Frame.
- Fall 2004, MENC, Charleston, South Carolina; Was asked to perform as a soloist with the University of South Carolina Concert Choir.
